Why a Regulatory Toxicology Platform?

We're not here to compete. We're here to fill a gap. The larger Toxicology Societies are exceptional organisations, built over decades, run by people who genuinely care about advancing the science of toxicology. They convene the field's best mechanistic, computational, and translational research, and they will remain the intellectual home of toxicology for good reason. Nothing about this platform is intended to replace them, rival them, or ask anyone to choose. What we noticed is simpler: regulatory toxicology is a discipline in its own right, and inside the big general societies, it's usually one specialty section or a single afternoon track — a slice of a much bigger programme built to serve every corner of the field at once. That's exactly as it should be. It also means the people navigating REACH dossiers, OECD test guideline updates, MHRA and FDA submission strategy, or the validation pathway for a New Approach Methodology rarely get more than an hour a year with each other in one room. This Forum exists for that hour — and for everything that should happen around it, all year, not just once.

What we do differently

We go deep on regulatory practice, not broad across toxicology. No competing agenda between organ-specific toxicology, discovery science, and regulatory affairs. Every session is regulatory: submission strategy, agency guidance changes, dossier case studies, cross-jurisdiction harmonisation, NAMs regulatory acceptance.

We move at the pace regulatory change actually happens. When a new EU chemicals strategy lands, or an agency guidance shifts overnight, we can build a session around it while it's still live — not wait for the next annual cycle.

We put regulators and practitioners in the same working conversations. Less podium, more table. The goal is "how do I actually get this through," not a poster session.

We keep the room small on purpose. Fewer attendees, deliberately, so the person you actually need to talk to is one of 200 people in the room instead of one of thousands.

We produce things you can use after the event ends. Position papers, consultation responses, practical guidance — outputs the community can point to and use between meetings, not just a yearly gathering.

Do I need to choose between this and my existing society membership?

No. Most toxicology societies serve regulatory toxicologists as one tiny subgroup among many larger subgroups. The Regulatory Toxicology Platform serves regulatory toxicologists as its entire reason for existing. When every resource, discussion, event, and connection is tailored specifically to your profession, the value proposition becomes very different. You stop searching for the small regulatory corner inside broader toxicology communities and join a community where regulatory toxicology is the main focus. That's the gap we're building to fill. Not another society. The professional home of regulatory toxicology.

Will this platform count toward my CPD?

Yes, that's the intention. CPD is a major priority for us because we know it is a real professional requirement for regulatory toxicologists and regulatory affairs professionals. We are actively working towards providing CPD-recognised and accredited training, webinars, workshops, and professional development activities. As accreditation arrangements are finalised, we will clearly state which activities are CPD-approved and how many CPD hours or credits can be claimed.

Beyond individual events, we're building a framework that recognises long-term professional development and contribution to the community. Members who maintain continuous membership for three years or more will be eligible for professional recognition grades, with progression based on factors such as:

Years of experience in regulatory toxicology - CPD activities and training completed - Courses and certifications obtained - Participation in platform events, workshops, and webinars - Contributions to the professional community

Our proposed recognition pathway includes:

Associate Fellow

Senior Fellow

Principal Fellow

Distinguished Fellow

The goal is to create a membership that not only helps you earn CPD but also provides a recognised record of your ongoing professional development and commitment to the regulatory toxicology profession.

CPD Accreditation Status: In development. Formal accreditation partnerships and CPD recognition pathways are being actively pursued and will be prominently communicated once confirmed.

Who is this actually for?

Regulatory toxicologists and safety assessors in industry, consultancy, and agencies; anyone building or reviewing dossiers for REACH, TSCA, cosmetics, agrochemical, or pharma submissions; anyone working on NAMs validation and regulatory acceptance pathways; early-career professionals who want direct access to senior regulatory practitioners without the scale of a 2,000-person conference.
